St Kitts Nevis Carnival | Forty years alive, forty days and forty fun packed nights
The Carnival Season is gathering momentum and there are lot of exciting, fun events looming.
This is a calendar of just some of the events still to look forward to in the Federation.
The events which run for 40 days will culminate on Jan 03/2012 with the ‘Las Lap’.
Dec 18» Beaumont Park’s Carnival Horse Races
Beaumont Park Race Track & Entertainment Centre is a 198-acre sporting paradise
that draws thousands of patrons monthly for premium thoroughbred horse racing and family-friendly entertainment.
Beaumont Park in Whitegate, St. Kitts
This event is set for the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium this Saturday December 17th at 7 p.m. and Sunday December 18th at 5 p.m.
Although the featured dance group will be CDT, there will be special guest performances from Creative Sole, the CFBC Dance Ensemble, The Fireflies Dance School and Range.
‘CHRISTMAS BY DE BUS STOP’
tells a tale of two friends, Maybelline and Elsinore, who happen to run into each other at the village bus stop where they share their hopes and desires for Christmas while reflecting on Christmases gone by.
The story is told through an exciting interplay of the protagonists coupled with a wide repertoire of performances showcasing Lyrical, Modern, Folk, Soca and Acro-jazz genres.

Folklore Avenue and “After Work” LIME
16 finalists from two categories , Groovy and Power head into the final show set for December 23rd.
In the Groovy category, the eight finalists named were: Cinnamon, Stich In Time, Ali Dee, Nickhail, Shakki Starfire, Queen Anastasia, X-Man and King Konris.
Meanwhile Stitch In Time, Ali Dee and Shakki Starfire will compete once again in the Power segment along with, Fantastic Tunda, Mr. World, Contenda, Mighty Takeover and Mighty Honesty.
They will go up against King Konris for his crown. They will be joined by one other lucky performer, who according to the Soca Monarch committee,
would join them based on votes from a text promotion to be launched soon, bringing the Power segment final count to 10 performers.
‘How Ms. Finch Stole Christmas’, is the title of LEAP’s highly anticipated musical theatre production has indeed been creating quite a buzz on the local arts/entertainment scene.
It is set to take on a rich, unique storyline, laced with sheer comedy, but more importantly, bearing impactful and inspirational social messages.

Party all through the night on J’ouvert.
J’ouvert is a large street party during Carnival in the eastern Caribbean region.
J’ouvert is a contraction of the French jour ouvert, or dawn/day break.
J’ouvert is celebrated on many islands during the holiday season.
J’ouvert Beach Chill
Invitation only event for the National Carnival Queen Pageant.
A calypso showdown separated the cream from the rest for the finals
of the LIME Senior Calypso Monarch Competition. A pool of Judges at the LIME Senior Calypso Monarch Semifinals and verified by Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Auditors.

The seven finalists selected will compete against the reigning Calypso King Pungwa in the LIME Senior Calypso Monarch Finals
to be held on Wednesday 28th December at the “Sugar Mill”(Warner Park Cricket Stadium).
Congratulations to miss Junika Berry of Washington Archibald High School.
She will be reperesenting St.Kitts next year in the Digicel Haynes Smith Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant.

The children’s carnival is exciting, fun and great spectacle.
THE All-Inclusive Carnival Fete, Inception, ‘Wotless-Edition’
Inception was first introduced to the Federation last year, as an event with a cover charge of $100 for unlimited various drinks all night
Along with Krosfyah, the event will also feature a host of bands and DJs Sweet Sister Sensia, Chalice Sounds, Midnight Squad, Sugar Bowl and Wett Dutt.
The lineup will continue with Nu Vybes, Small Axe, Grand Masters, Odisi, Newtown Iron Band, Infamus, and the winners of both categories of the Soca Monarch Competition.
New Years Eve Dance
Nu Vybes Band International has long been one of the most recognized band in the Federation and their music has positively impact the regional and international arenas.
The band will also be presenting their very own jouvert troop this carnival ‘King A De Hill’; which according to Seth Saheli, a member of the band’s management team.
Saheli also extended an invitation to all the Sugar Band fans to come out an support them in their upcoming events for this carnival, namely, two boat rides on the 21st and 28th, there Cream of the Crop gala on the 31st.
The Eleventh Annual Prime Minister’s New Year’s Gala hosted by The Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.
will take place on the 1st Jan 2012.
According to the Chairperson of the Gala Committee, Minister of Health, Social and Community Development and Gender Affairs,
the Hon. Marcella Liburd, the gala event will be the Grand Ballroom of the St. Kitts Marriott Resort
and Royal Beach Casino on Sunday 1st January 2012.
